Thomas A. Gutzwiller

Thomas A. Gutzwiller is member of the board of directors since 2006. In 2012, he assumed the position of Vice Chairman of the Board and 2013, he was elected by the General Assembly as President of the Board. 1988 Thomas A. Gutzwiller acted as co-founder of the international consulting firm The Information Management Group (IMG), St. Gallen and worked as its CEO from 1993 to 2006. Thomas A. Gutzwiller is associate professor since 1993 and senior professor for business administration with focus on information management at the University of St. Gallen since 2001. In 2006 he founded the consulting firm GWPartner AG, St. Gallen. Moreover, since 2006 he works for the Executive School for Management, Technology and Law at the University of St. Gallen.

Andrea Cornelius has been a lecturer for Digital Technology, Entrepreneurship and Marketing Management at the Munich University of Applied Sciences since 2018. Before moving to teaching and research, she had been working for IBM in various management positions for 10 years. Prior to that, Andrea Cornelius worked for international companies such as Allianz, Computer Sciences Corporation CSC and T-Systems Enterprise Services. She completed her physics studies at the Ruhr University Bochum in 1987 and received her PhD in natural sciences from the University of Hamburg in 1991.

HSG, University of St. Gallen in 1991 Claudia Gietz Viehweger worked at Zürcher Kantonalbank in various functions, including on mortgage financing and credit management and market research. 1998 Claudia Gietz Viehweger joined as a representative of the fifth generation in the family business Gietz AG in Gossau SG. Since 2001 she has been on the Executive Board and Chief Executive Officer. The company employs approximately 80 employees and is one of the world's leading suppliers of machinery for the print finishing.

Marc Mächler has been delegated by the Government Council of the Canton of St.Gallen accordance with article 5 of the Cantonal Bank Act. As Government Councillor, he represents the Canton of St.Gallen as the main shareholder in the board of directors of the St.Galler Kantonalbank.
Marc Mächler has been Government Councillor of the Canton of St.Gallen since 1 June 2016. Until 2020 he was Head of the Department of Construction. Since 1 June 2020 he has been Head of the Department of Finance. Prior to his election to the Government Council, he held various management positions at UBS for around 20 years. From 2009 – 2016 he worked in the Wealth Management & Swiss Banks division of UBS AG in St.Gallen, first as Head of Institutional Clients Eastern Switzerland, later as Head of HNW Rayon St.Gallen. From 2003 – 2008 he worked as a political consultant in the Corporate Center of UBS AG in Zurich. After graduating as lic. oec. HSG in 1996, Marc Mächler worked for UBS Warburg and its predecessor company SBC Warburg Dillon Read in the Corporate Finance department in Zurich until 2002.

From 1999, he built up the Swiss Capital Corporate Finance AG to one of the leading companies in the Swiss M&A market. 2014 he merged his company with the Europewide operating N+1 Group. In 2016 the company has been renamed to Alantra AG, where Kurt Rüegg acts as President of the Board of Directors and Managing Partner.

Hans Wey started his career with a commercial apprenticeship and employment at the Berner Kantonalbank. In 1978 he finished training as Dipl. Auditor and held various positions for about 35 years for PricewaterhouseCoopers AG (PwC). From 1998 to 2008 he managed the audit of the section financial services Switzerland. From 2008 until his retirement on 30 June 2012, he was Chairman of the Board of PwC.

Roland Ledergerber has been Chairman of the Management Board since February 1st, 2008.
Roland Ledergerber joined the St.Galler Kantonalbank (SGKB) in December 1998 as Head of Commercial Clients, later he acted as Sales Director and Deputy Head of Retail and Commercial Clients. In June 2002 he was appointed as a Member of the Group Management Board and assumed his new position as Head Retail and Commercial Clients. Before joining SGKB Ledergerber worked for UBS AG in various positions in Switzerland and abroad in the following departments: Controlling, Corporate and Institutional Banking Europe as well as Commercial Clients Switzerland.

Falk Kohlmann has been a Member of the Management Board and Head of Market Services since January 2021.
He joined St.Galler Kantonalbank in 2016 as Head Digital Banking. Previous, as Head of Banking Trends and Innovation at Swisscom, he was responsible for the think tank e-foresight, which consults Swiss banks in digitalization.

Christian Schmid was appointed Member of the Management Board and Head of the Corporate Center on August 1st, 2008. As announced on September 17, 2020, he will succeed Roland Ledergerber as Chairman of the Executive Board (CEO) of St.Galler Kantonalbank as of May 1st, 2021.
Before Schmid was CEO of RSN Risk Solution Network AG since 2004. From 1999 to 2003 Christian Schmid already worked for St.Galler Kantonalbank, at this time as Head of Credit Portfolio Management and Head of Business Development in Retail & Commercial Banking.
